Playing Ezra Chater anywhere else might have been frustrating –
there are only two scenes at the very beginning of the play and then he heads off into the jungle to be bitten by a monkey
(if only that were in the play!). And the audience seemed to hate it so, baffled to the extent that they missed the warmth at
the heart of the play. But it was such a fantastic cast, and there were three other plays to do – it was enormous fun.
And surprisingly relaxing…
